ABOUT US
Foulger Underwood’s provenance dates back to 1980, when the business was set up, as an accountancy broker in the United Kingdom. Between 1980 and the 1990’s the business was restructured in order to offer clients consultancy services as well. These consultancy services cover pre and post M&A advisory, strategy development, partnership mentoring as well as valuation and expert witness services.
In early 2000, Foulger Underwood started to work with a broader range of professional service firms by offering our M&A and consulting services to legal practices and wealth management businesses in the UK and across Europe.
In 2005, Foulger Underwood was recognised as the market leader in M&A and advisory services for accounting firms in the UK when exclusively appointed by the ICAEW. Foulger Underwood's remit was as the ICAEW external resource for small and medium sized accounting firms that needed support with succession planning, M&A and practice management.
This later, in 2009, drew the attention of the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority of Singapore (ACRA), who asked us to travel to Singapore and present at their annual conference. ACRA was interested in how we could assist professional firms in Singapore with their M&A strategies and developing their firms in the region. The objective was to encourage the growth of larger professional service firms in Singapore, via M&A. We were invited to attend the ACRA annual conference again in 2010 and encouraged to set up in Singapore to assist in developing the landscape of professional services. Foulger Underwood established their first Asian office in Singapore in 2010.
The Singapore office has since evolved into a full M&A and consultancy firm assisting CPA firms, trust and corporate service providers and family offices across the South East Asia region to develop their business through our consultancy offering, or executing M&A transactions. It was this success that allowed the opening of the Hong Kong office in 2014, which covers North Asia. The Hong Kong office has since developed a market leading position as the ‘go-to’ firm for clients in the CPA and trust and corporate services sectors, who are seeking consulting and advisory services.
With offices in London, Singapore and Hong Kong we are committed to providing regional sale, merger, acquisition and consulting services to accounting/CPA firms, legal practice, trust and corporate service providers, wealth management businesses and specialists within these sectors.
Across the group, our clients range from smaller owned managed businesses through to multi partner/shareholder MNCs.
Each client’s strategy and aspirations differ, which is why tailored solutions are paramount.
